right now, you need to run ReminderScan to see what's pending.

I've experimented with async scanning (easy) and airline notifications but I always end up making airline worse.

I'm wondering if I want to have the alerts displayed out-of-band so as to not mess up the work I'm doing in nvim and tmux. Have scanner maintain a toolbar platform-specific tool tray applet?

Instead opted for tmux status bar notifications https://github.com/navicore/nvim-reminders/pull/9
